The Zemo plot ratchets up a few notches, making this tale of psychological suspense more interesting than in the previous issue. Brubaker’s use of Bucky’s uncertainty about his new role as Captain America, along with his impulsive nature) is creative; here’s hoping that Zemo can do the same to create some genuine thrills. Mitch Breitweiser steps in as artist and he fits perfectly into the look of the series as established by previous pencillers. The surprisingly creepy (considering the cartoonier art) Nomad story ends in this issue, showing restraint in not dragging it out any longer than it needed to be (a lesson other Marvel creators could benefit from) and increasing its effectiveness. Though, for the record, I’d still prefer the Cap story to fill the entire issue.
