May 4, 2015

The big story this week is that AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON has opened in North America! Go see it! Go see it again! For full details (spoiler alert!) click on the big picture of Ultron up at the top of this page!

Meanwhile, aeveral comics are coming to an end to make way for SECRET WARS and two final issues are profiled this week. ALL-NEW CAPTAIN AMERICA #6 sees Cap’s victory over Hydra’s mad plan in time for the new event!

Then Avengers Aficionado Rob Johnson contributes AVENGERS (2012) #44 wherein the world is coming to an end; in fact, a lot of worlds are!

Rob also contributes AVENGERS #204-206 from 1981! Earth’s Mightiest Heroes take on the Yellow Claw (Marvel's first Fu Manchu rip-off) and the little-known Thermal Man (who thinks he's hot stuff)!

And for no reason whatsoever, I’ve popped in SILVER SURFER (1987) #36, the issue’s intriguing cover leads to a hilarious cosmic comic contest between SS and...I won’t say who. And Cap has a small, if unnecessary, cameo.
